Web Maintenance Maintaining your website and keeping your website current is the most important part of your website. Out of date information is worse that having no information at all. The domain name (the www name) is your internet identity. We recommend that even before you build your website you purchase a domain name. Every website requires a domain name and the cost is minimal at $45 + GST annually. Your domain name must be easily linked to your identity, easily remembered, easily spelt and not too long. A web hosting service is the service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible on the internet. Your domain name is linked to this place on the internet to ensure people can view your website. TOM offers two types of web hosting - Standard and NetCatalogue. Standard Web Hosting allows unlimited space (cost is charged by space though), unlimited email addresses, comprehensive web statistics and FTP (file transfer) access if required. The cost of standard web hosting is not high - 5MB of space costs $20 + GST every month. 5 MB of space will be plenty for most sites and sizes over 5MB cost less per MB as follows (costs are excluding GST and per month):
NetCatalogue is the shopping cart that we use for those clients wishing to have an e-commerce solution. This solution is complete shopping cart allowing for customers to buy product online. NetCatalogue allows you to add, modify and delete product lines when you require, collects costomer data for your future requirements and can be tuned to your particular requirements. The cost of NetCatalogue is $60 + GST per month. this give you unlimited space, shopping cart items, email addresses, and comprehensive web statistics. Upgrades and updates are regularly done and these are available to all clients using the system. Email hosting is the service we offer allowing our clients to have unlimited email addresses linked to there domain name (without a website). So instead of having joe@xtra.co.nz you have joe@bloggslimited.co.nz. This allows a link to you brand via your email that customers and suppliers can easily remember. If you wish email can be forwarded automatically to an established email address. We will give you as many email addresses as you need on your domain, all for the same price. There are no extra set up costs and the cost of maintaining email addresses is all included in the one price - $60 + GST annually plus domain name. NB. If you have web hosting your email hosting is included with that. |
